Blaise M. Sonnier, J.D., D.B.A, former partner, has been Of Counsel with the Firm since 2007, providing consultations and legal services in the areas of taxation, estate planning, successions and estates, commercial transactions, and corporate law. He is currently the Wilcox Professor of Accounting, and Associate Professor of Tax Accounting, and the Department Chair of Accounting and Finance at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs.
Blaise previously served as the Director of the Masters of Taxation program at Florida International University in Miami. He has published numerous articles for leading tax journals and authors a column on current trends and developments in state and local taxation in the industry publication, TAXES – The Tax Magazine®.
In 2007, Blaise was awarded a Doctorate of Business Administration at Grenoble Ecole de Management, Grenoble, France. His dissertation explored the disclosure practices of high technology companies of their intellectual capital in their annual reports.
Blaise is licensed to practice law in the State of Louisiana and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the States of Florida and Louisiana.
