Patrick A. Johnson, a partner in the Lafayette office of Allen & Gooch, has a practice that is exclusively dedicated to defending employers, carriers and third-party administrators in matters arising under the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act. He represents a broad range of companies in diverse fields from the oilfield service industry to retail sales.
Patrick defines his practice by attention to detail, which he developed while serving as an intelligence analyst in the United States Marine Corps, where he provided information to tactical commanders as well as national intelligence agencies. This attention to detail has allowed him to meet the needs of a variety of clients who rely upon him for litigation defense, as well as helping these clients institute best practices for the protection and safety of their employees. Patrick has co-authored workers’ compensation training materials for use in the industry and regularly presents individual training sessions to the adjustors and managers of his insurer and third-party administrator clients, and the management and safety personnel of his employer clients. He is also a regular speaker on workers’ compensation fraud at the Louisiana Business and Industry (LABI) annual conference and on a variety of workers’ compensation issues at the Louisiana State Bar Association’s annual conference on workers’ compensation. Patrick’s dedication has resulted in recognition as workers’ compensation panel counsel in Louisiana for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Argonaut Insurance Company, Chubb Insurance, and Risk Management Services.
