Billing & Collection Policies

We issue invoices monthly for legal fees, disbursements, and other expenses incurred on the client’s behalf, unless a different billing cycle has been arranged.  Payments are due upon receipt.  If we do not receive comment about the invoice within fifteen (15) days of the invoice date, we will assume that you have seen the invoice and you find it acceptable. Invoices not paid within ten (10) days of the statement date will be assessed a late fee of twelve (12%) per annum calculated on past due amounts.

Other expenses may include, but not be limited to, overnight delivery charges, photocopies, scans, printing, messenger services, computerized legal research, travel expenses, and services provided by third parties, such as experts, court reporters, process servers and document reproduction services.  Clients may be asked to pay certain charges in advance or directly to the suppliers, particularly with respect to large expenditures.

Records Retention

It is our policy to keep clients as informed as possible.  Clients will receive documents, pleadings, correspondence and other information throughout our representation and these copies will be the client’s file copies.  Our firm maintains a document retention policy in which file materials are retained electronically only, and all such files are destroyed five (5) years from the date of closure of the matter.  Upon request, after all legal work necessary for representation in the matter is complete, we will be happy to arrange delivery of a copy of the electronically maintained files as designated by our clients.
